Example: 5 successful paid referrals means 5 future months at $1.
Signups during the free period: they are tracked now, but they do not count yet.
When they count: they become successful referrals only if that person later starts a paid Pro subscription.
After billing starts: your discounted-month total steps down on the monthly billing cycle instead of all at once.
What happens now?
No one is being charged. The goal is to give people time to get comfortable with the structure, understand which tools will eventually be paid, and see clearly that the default after the preview is still Free unless they later choose Pro with a card on file.
