Fireboat Fire Fighter Museum

An official Path Through History Site! Decommissioned New York City Fireboat Fire Fighter is docked in Greenport and available for free tours year-round. Visitors can see the decks, quarters and engine room of this true fire fighting icon. Kids can wear a fire helmet, or pet the two resident "fire cats" or ring the bell of this 78 year old National Landmark. Guided tours throughout the year are available from 11-5, during July and August hours are expanded. Visitors can actually see and touch the world's first diesel electric fireboat, and at one time the largest and most powerful fireboat in the world.
