You’re Invited to the 73rd Annual Christmas Day Crossing! Each December, thousands gather on the banks of the Delaware River to witness a powerful tradition: the reenactment of George Washington’s daring 1776 Christmas night crossing. Experience history come to life as several hundred reenactors in Continental military dress listen to an inspiring speech by General Washington before rowing across the river in replica Durham boats. 🎟 Admission is free! Thanks to proceeds from the First Crossing and the generosity of their donors. Arrive by 11:30 AM to secure the best viewing spot. Even if river conditions prevent the crossing, the day will still be filled with historic ceremonies, stirring speeches, and engaging colonial-era activities for the whole family to enjoy.
