Washington Crossing Reenactment

You’re Invited: Washington Crossing’s First Crossing Reenactment Step back in time and be part of history! Each December, thousands gather along the banks of the Delaware River to experience George Washington’s daring Christmas night crossing of 1776 — and we want YOU to join us. Come celebrate the season at the First Crossing Reenactment on Sunday, December 13, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM (with the river crossing at 1:00 PM). This isn’t just a dress rehearsal — it’s a special fundraising event that supports future programs at Washington Crossing Historic Park. Bring your family and friends and spend the day immersed in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Colonial Era: Cheer on General Washington and his troops as they row across the Delaware in replica Durham boats. Watch mounted militia soldiers ride with the 4th Light Dragoons. Smell and taste fresh-baked bread from a period baker. Hear the park’s fife and drum corps perform. See blacksmiths at work and browse the wares of colonial craftspeople. Learn how cannons were fired and soldiers drilled. Explore a follower’s encampment and try your hand at colonial games.
