Exploring History through Literature Workshop for Grades 8-12

Time: 3 hours (10A-1P) Fee: $25 Limit: 20 participants Prerequisites: Student will obtain and read the historical novel March in the Morning by Jack Maurer (available from the Bradford House gift shop – see link below). A pdf of a reading study guide will be provided to each registrant. A creative writing/art project is to be completed and brought to the workshop. During the workshop, students will explore the six tumultuous weeks in the summer and fall of 1794 that were the height of the Whiskey Rebellion through PowerPoint presentations and hands-on activities. Students will analyze primary source materials to learn about the Whiskey Rebellion, its leaders, and its significance in American history. Lunch will be provided: pizza and fresh vegetables.
