Water Lights At Night

Let's celebrate together as we share in an evening of peace, beauty, hope and memories. Families and friends gather to decorate lanterns that are released at sunset. This tranquil evening is an awe-inspiring site when hundreds of lanterns are launched on the Las Colonias Butterfly Pond, filling it with a soft warm glow. Attendance is free and food trucks will be onsite. Water lantern kits, including the lantern, LED tea light, and marker, are $8 each, or six kits for $42. Date : October 10, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Location : Butterfly Pond at Las Colonias Park (1695 Las Colonias Lndg, Grand Junction, CO 81501) After the lantern release, the Grand Junction America 250 – Colorado 150 Drone Show will begin. As one of the signature state-wide events, hundreds of drones will illuminate the night sky with a themed light show commemorating 250 years of U.S. history and 150 years of Colorado history.
